How to Enable Company Password Management on Mekari Access

Currently, Mekari provides a Password Policy feature available in the Mekari Access menu for companies, allowing users with the owner role in SSO to access this feature in Mekari Launchpad. This process is a prerequisite for companies to use the Password Policy feature to access Mekari Launchpad. Here are the steps.

Important
The Mekari Access feature is an add-on. You need to subscribe first to access it by contacting your Sales Team representative. Once the feature is active, you can proceed with password management in the next steps.

  1. Click the following link https://account.mekari.com/#/.

  2. Log in to your Mekari account.

  3. Next, select the Mekari Access menu.

  4. Then click “Activate” to manage password complexity, length, and validity period.

  5. After that, you can configure the password policy on the appearing sidebar. Here’s an explanation.

    No. Button/Column Name Description
    1. Special characters

    Check this checkbox if the password must contain special characters, such as !, %, @, and others, excluding the icons ^*(%)+-|

    Select at least one of the three checkbox options.

    2. Uppercase and lowercase letters

    Check this checkbox if the password must contain a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters. Example: MekAri.

    Select at least one of the three checkbox options.

    3. Numeric characters

    Check this checkbox if the password must contain numbers. Example: Mekar1.

    Select at least one of the three checkbox options.

    4. Minimum password length

    Set the minimum password length. Choose between 8-50 characters.

    5. Password validity period

    Slide the toggle from Off to On to activate and set the Expiration Duration of the password in the provided field. If you enable this policy, all users in your company are required to change their passwords according to the expiration duration.

    Important
    Users will receive reminder notifications to change their password 14, 7, and 2 days before the password expires as shown below.

  6. After completing the password policy configuration, click “Save”.

  7. A confirmation pop-up will appear as shown below. You can validate the implementation of the new password policy that will apply company-wide across all Mekari products. You can choose one of the options: Apply gradually to enforce the policy gradually where new users are asked to change their password after their old password expires, or Apply immediately to require all users to change their password at the next sign-in session. After selecting an option, click “Apply”.

    Important
    Mekari users in your company will receive the following email when the password expiration is applied.

  8. If you choose Apply immediately, then when you Sign in during the next session, you will be prompted to change your password. During the Sign in process, the following notification will appear. Click “Change password”. However, if you choose Apply gradually, the notification and instructions to change the password will appear when the password has expired (according to your configuration).

  9. The previously created password policy will appear on the following screen. You can enter your Current Password, change the password with a New Password, and Confirm new password according to the policy you have set. Make sure all data is correct, then click “Save password”.

  10. Next, click “Back to sign-in page”.

  11. You will then be redirected back to the Sign in page. Log in again using the new Password you have changed.

  12. If you return to the Mekari Access page, you can disable the policy by clicking the “On” button and switching it to “Off”. Additionally, you can modify the policy by clicking “Edit”.

    When you change the password policy configuration, you will be redirected back to the following screen. Modify the policy settings, then click “Save changes”.
